ONE LAST GLIMPSE
ONE LAST GLIMPSE
Behind those eyes
here the moon lies
anxiously
Awaiting the tears
through which the stars pour
all over this place
Her name I whisper out
crying awake, yet,
am I dreaming?
She haunts me well
this fading night
Washing us all away
leaving no one to pay for what we’ve done
Our visions have blurred
Everything’s just the way it never should be
Disappearing soon we will all fade
with this light
Catching one last glimpse
of all we missed tonight
How soon do we forget
Why quickly do we
try to throw this world above us
Screaming through the voices
of the ones we’ve left alive
“What’s done is done
Oh, please God, change our past”
Soon our time
will be like one more star
We’ll come seeping through the moon
as the rain begins to fall
Tomorrow we may find out
that life was all a game
One more chance
we’ll cry
One more day
Our visions have blurred
Everything’s just the way it never should be
Disappearing soon we will all fade
with this light
Catching one last glimpse
of all we missed tonight
